In Leiden, we have planted two multi-stemmed trees in a previously planted garden. The trees, multi-stemmed Koelreuteria's, are approximately 2.50 metres high. The garden is a lovely green garden but in summer it is often too hot on the terrace. The climate is changing and that brings ever warmer periods. A beautiful and large canopy of trees provides shadow and coolness.
The trees are placed in large tubs, which we transport to the right place with our jumbo hand truck. To give the trees a good start, we make sure there is a good preparation. The planting hole is dug broadly and provided with organic fertilizer.
