A sustainable garden means using more ( indigenous ) plants and sustainable materials. "Consumers, too, can make a major contribution by designing and maintaining their gardens in a responsible manner. A green living environment is important. Also for the children who play there." (Sharon Dijksma, former State Secretary of Economic Affairs). It is partly for this reason that we are members of the Vakgroep Wilde Weelde. This professional group consists of a broad network of approximately 200 companies, professionals who work environmentally aware and with an ecological vision.
Sustainable design
In designing the garden, attention can be paid to materials that can be recycled and that last a long time. But also by managing the garden differently and not using crop protection products or artificial fertiliser. In other words, dealing sustainably with the soil and water. We must think more in terms of alternatives, other ways of arranging and behaving.
